On September 13, residents and taxpayers of Will County, Illinos, spoke at a meeting of the Legislative and Policy Committee of the Will County Board to request a public hearing on House Bill 311, the Illinois Universal Health Care Act. The goal of the public hearing and of further activism in Will County is to have the County Board pass a resolution in support of HB 311, in order to encourage passage of the bill.

As a result of this citizen action, members of the County Board have scheduled a public hearing on Saturday, Novmeber 5, 10:00 am to noon in the County Office Building in Joliet. Activists have also scheduled a series of educational events to precede the hearing. You can follow these events on the Event Calendar.
