4) Treasurer’s Report (Mark, 5 minutes)
Mark has been working on developing notes for next treasurer
Open invitation to join Finance Committee
Have not been much going on in terms of changes
Sure that will change
e.g. Bill’s report, newsletter
Need to have some kind of calendar to pass on to future Treasurers
5) Report from committees (Lauren, 10 minutes)
Don’t have much of an update from last month
Social Media/Website Committees have decided to combine efforts

Proposed name of “Communications Committee”
Could be next step nailing this down

Hale thinking of doing some advertising around Halloween
Could be some coordination between him and Anna and David Johnson in Champaign-Urbana

Thinking of making phone calls to folks who want to become more active
Going to ask committee members to be involved
Donna offered to help
Susan too
Want to put together script
Lay out what folks can be involved with
e.g. signature gathering, website, social media
If successful, can go back and look at older names
Long Terms Care/People with Disabilities Committee
Trying to reach out to people and organizations and make sure understand where they’re coming from regarding long term care

6) Newsletter and fundraiser drive (Anna, 20 minutes)
Small printing error
Credit card info would end up on outside
Covering that up with personal note apologizing for error
Was difficult to do this work without office
Probably workable if we only do annually
Was also difficult to find printer
Could possibly print at library in future
Sending out about 175 copies
Sending to members and donors
Database must be well maintained
Anna to share digital copy so folks can print out and distribute
Could also possibly do another mailing to coincide with online donation drive
Giving Tuesday is Nov 27
Do we want to send out a copy via Mailchimp to big list?
7) Update on single payer study (Bill, 20 minutes)
Someone experienced in journalism and familiar with single-payer to review draft
Will have to distribute soon; two ways:
Online
Print
Giving
Selling
Using as donation
Bill has been asked to make presentation at Ebeneezer church in November
Could give away copies or ask folks to make donation
Could be enticement to let us come and talk about single-payer
May need to crowdfund in order to print in color and/or have greater reach
Bill distributed crowdfunding pitch document
Would be good to bring this project into regular fundraising efforts
Need to separate out appeals for:
Basic operating costs
This project specifically
Also need to work on design and marketing
Graphic designer not working out
InDesign could be a solution
Jordan to also see about cartoonist
Looking for more personal stories
Text nearly done
Bill to look into on demand printing from Salsedo Press
8) Member vs. Supporter vs. Donor (20 minutes)
Bill:
Supporter is someone who gives us contact info
Presumably that means they’re at the very least interested in single-payer
Member vs donor more hard to distinguish
Donor obviously given us some money
Some donors not members
Anne:
Important thing is to be able to tell who gets to vote
Susan:
Membership to her more about being active
Should be some sort of distinction
9) Contacting new members who want to be active (Bill, 5 minutes)
(see above)
Bill:
We should partner with Chicago DSA and JASC to host some sort of townhall
10) Establishing standards for social media posts (Anna, 10 minutes)
Need to look at who should be allowed admin privileges (e.g. posting)
11) Chicago M4A Campaign (Jordan, 5 minutes)
Sheilah Garland is doing follow up
Wants to make city wide working group for M4A
Wants to get representation from whole city
Very informal right now
